VATA - PITTA - KAPHA

Naadi Parikshan, also known as Nadi Vigyan, is a traditional diagnostic technique in Ayurveda, the ancient system of medicine that originated in India. The word "Naadi" refers to the pulse, and "Parikshan" means examination. Naadi Parikshan involves the examination of the pulse to assess the physiological and pathological conditions of the body.
Here's an overview of how Naadi Parikshan is conducted:
1. Selection of the Patient: The practitioner typically selects the patient based on their medical history, symptoms, and overall health condition.
2.Preparation of the Patient: The patient is advised to sit in a relaxed position for a few minutes to stabilize the pulse.
3.Pulse Examination: The practitioner uses the index, middle, and ring fingers to palpate the radial artery pulse at the wrist. The pulse is felt at three positions (Naadis) on the wrist, corresponding to the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).
4.Identification of Dosha Imbalance: The practitioner assesses the characteristics of the pulse, including rate, rhythm, strength, and other qualities. Based on Ayurvedic principles, variations in these pulse characteristics are believed to indicate the balance or imbalance of the three doshas.
5.Diagnosis: The Ayurvedic practitioner interprets the pulse findings to diagnose the dosha imbalance and assess the underlying causes of any health issues. This information is then used to tailor a personalized treatment plan, which may include dietary recommendations, lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, and therapeutic interventions.
6.Follow-up: Naadi Parikshan is often used as a tool for monitoring progress during the course of treatment. Regular pulse examinations help the practitioner adjust the treatment plan based on changes in the patient's dosha balance.
It's important to note that while Naadi Parikshan is an integral part of Ayurvedic diagnosis, it is typically used in conjunction with other methods such as questioning the patient about their medical history, physical examination, and observation of symptoms.
It's recommended to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment based on Naadi Parikshan.
